Nature Walks and Art

We had a fun weekend.  Yesterday, was Brennan's last soccer game.  It was an interesting season.  He says that he likes playing soccer but watching him you wouldn't necessarily know it.  There are times he's in another world (as are 3/4 of the kids out there) or people watching; I think that's part of being 4!  He's one of the smallest and they play in a big clump so I'm sure it's scary to get in the mix when you are little.  He does a good job in the practice part of the session and I think that in the spring he might be more into the actual game part.  As long as he's having fun....he says that he will miss his soccer friends and he's ready to start swim lessons again:)  The boys and I went for a walk on our lot yesterday and then came home and made a lot of art with our finds.  Today, we went back with Nate and went for a longer walk and came home to make some more art:).  The weather was gorgeous this weekend and they are calling for a 75 degree day on Tuesday!  We've been lucky to have some absolutely beautiful fall weekends this year.

You can't tell me this look doesn't say, trouble!

Good job to all, it was fun watching!

He loved these ferns...didn't want to leave them...
Oh Nuggy, you couldn't be any cuter!

Exploring

Serious about nature.

Growing up too fast.  He sure loves exploring and wants to know all about the outdoors (and it's creatures).

Jace really enjoys snack time!

We sure were busy...

After they accepted that they had to share the glue, they did a great job on the leaf moose!

Windows, Doors and More

Even with lots of rainy days, and a very muddy lot, the house continues to come along.  They have the windows and doors in, concrete porch floor completed, plumbing started, and the roof started.  We've picked out the kitchen and bath cupboards, finalized the kitchen layout, and picked out flooring.  I think that this week they will finish the roof and start the electrical.  I'm not sure what else might be on the agenda. I didn't seem to have very many pictures from the past 2 weeks on my camera, I must need to download some from my phone, that will have to wait until another evening...

As the newness of house fades and we eventually grow tired certain finishes, etc., I bet that this will only become more special.  This is on the back porch.  Jace was not interested at first, but after a few minutes I was able to get him to put his hand in.  The H was imprinted with a metal H from Nate's grandparents' farm and the coin is a shiny new 2014 penny.

The color at our property is gorgeous right now!  I think that fall will be my favorite time of year up there

Festivals and a Jake O Lantern

The boys had a fun weekend.  They got to go to a couple of fall festivals, see lots of tractors (you know Brennan had "seen steam engines in books but never saw one!"), and tonight with Daddy's help we carved the perfect Jake O Lantern.  The weather's turning cooler, we even had frost last night so that means it's time to get out the footy pajamas.  Is there anything cuter than little boys in footy pajamas?!  If only they would sit still for a picture in those pajamas.  I have to brag for a second about my Jacers, last night I coughed and he said "Bless you Mommy,"  isn't he sweet!

Boys sit together for a picture in your "jommies"...that's what I asked, this is what I got...
And doesn't everyone do headstands on the couch?!

Camp Eder Fall fest...after a ride on a short bus through the apple trees we arrived in the middle of the woods at the fall fest, interesting...

Going down every which way!

Who knew that my boys liked cows so much?!

Finding candy in the haystack (what a great idea for an easy game for kids)

Just look at these 2

I know, that was a lot of the same pose in the same spot but they were all so cute....

 Pumpkin carving and painting time:)

TaDa, how do you like this Jake O Lantern.  I must say I'm quite impressed with our work!
