Dino Dig Birthday party

Here are the details of the dino party!  Another fun one to plan, especially when you have a paleontologist who's super into it!

I found these cards online they had lots of facts about each dino.  I just cut them out and strung them on some twine.  I made the letters in Word and cut them out to string up as well.

This was my leaf and balloon garden.  The leaves were made of tissue paper.  I wish my balloons were lime rather than John Deer Green but it served the purpose.  Just cut the leaves out fold them over to glue onto twine and then tie on some balloons.

Watch out!  Baby T-rexes expected!  I made the dino eggs from paper lantern easter eggs that I found on amazon, just spray painted them white.  We built our nest with things from the yard.  I made my sign (and all sings in Word with pictures I find online or clip art)

My first birthday mantle (we didn't have a fireplace in our old house). The banner is from Etsy on its 2nd use.  Brennan painted the letter/number and I added some dinos on rocks that we brought home from the beach.  The pictures that Becky took were perfect with our theme.   B's T-rex shiert is from Kohls

Brennan insisted on Dinos with party hats so I put these guys in there to keep them safe and add some interest to our side doorway.

These were on the tables.  Dinos (that we had as toys), rocks from the beach, fern from the yard, and the only thing that was purchased here is the jar from Michaels.  I already had the tablecloth as well...not sure where it was from.

The cake table.  Cake by Keri Starzman, she's amazing!  Dino dig cups (dirt cake) by my Mom.  Dino napkins from amazon.

I always try to display pics from the past year, this year I put them on one of my painted windows.
Party favors...the boys decorated the hats with dino stickers before they started their paleontologist activities.  Inside the bucket were shovels, a magnifying glass, a burplap bag and small container for holding their treasures.  The boys found geodes, dino skeletons and jewels while digging.  They also found dino eggs on a dino egg hunt that hatched dinos in water. The previous post has pictures of their fun doing so!

All about Brennan at 5...I started asking him these questions at 3 and I plan to keep doing it to see how he changes.  The dino with the hat is serving prehistoric rock candy, found on Amazon.
Yuck dino toenails!  Also herbivore munchies:)

Dino watermelon...not too hard to make!  I forgot to take a picture of all the food but we had lots of other goods for our paleontologists.

Brennan is 5!

Just like that, in the blink of an eye Brennan turned 5.  From the day that he made me a Mama, he had my heart.  He's so full of joy and lights up any room with his quick wit and cute little voice.  He's talkative, smart, has a tremendous desire to learn, he loves watching tv and movies but he also loves it outside catching bugs and exploring nature and he  loves the water, especially the ocean.  He's as cute as they come with beautiful eyes that almost change colors and eye lashes that most girls would kill for.  Even though he's 5, he's still full of hugs and always asks me to snuggle.  Gosh, I hope that doesn't stop anytime soon.  He's the best big brother.  He takes time to show Jace how to play with toys or do tasks and teach him new things.  He's patient and kind with him (the majority of the time).  I love watching them interact and play.  I just know he's going to do awesome in kindergarten.  He might be a little ornery at times but he's super smart and as one of his prior teachers told me today... she's sure that he'll charm his new teacher just like he did her!  That pretty much sums it up, Brennan has a way of charming people and drawing people in.  I couldn't love this little guy anymore and I'm so proud of the big boy that he's becoming.

I had so much fun throwing a dino party for him.  He sits with me and looks for ideas on pinterest.  He knows how to pin things on his own.  He's into the details just like me.  I love it:)  Turns out that I didn't have all of the details quite right...the nostrils on my watermelon T-rex were wrong, they should have been rectangular.

Here's some pics from his party.  He had a really great time!  He told me it was the best party ever.  Thank you SO much for all who came, brought food and helped me out.  And a big, big thanks for all of his awesome presents.  He was so busy today playing with everything!

I'll post the party DIY details another time.  Here's the fun ones of my boys:)

Brennan painted the 5 and B on the mantle.  The basket to the left was for school supplies.  Thanks to all for your donations...they will make a difference for kids in Adams County!

Jace wanted his own picture

Birthday boy!

I wish this wasn't blurry but you can still see how excited he was about the Lionel dino train.
