Happy Birthday Brennan!

Happy Birthday Brennan!  We were so busy yesterday and today that I didn't have a minute to write a birthday post for my Buddy.  All of the presents have been opened and the boys are in bed after a fun Cars birthday party today.  How is it that my first baby is 4 already?!  Brennan, I hope that you had a happy, happy, birthday.  Daddy and I are so proud of the thoughtful, smart, confident, witty, caring, and funny little guy that you are growing up to be.  You're such a special son and a loving big brother; we couldn't love you more and are so thankful for all of the smiles that you fill our days with.  Hope that all your birthday wishes come true my little love:)

Thanks to all who came to his party to make it extra special and thanks to all for the many cards and gifts, our boys sure are loved (and spoiled)!!  I'm sure they will have fun tomorrow playing with all of the new toys.

I think the thing that most amazes me about this guy is the way that he's always thinking, inquiring and wanting to learn.  He asks a lot of questions and is constantly trying to figure out more.  He still loves to read and his memory is so sharp.  He asked for a globe for his birthday and was excited when he opened one.  I don't think that most boys ask for a globe for their 4th birthday, but I think it goes with his love of learning.  His vocabulary is still impressive, the words he comes up with and the sentences he puts together are really something...such as "the fish is intrigued by that turtle"!  Brennan is mostly the smallest among 3, 4 and 5 year olds but he doesn't seem to  care, he's very outspoken and holds his own.  I read his answers to the questions they ask at school on their bulletin board and he sure is detailed.  One of the questions the other day was where do you want to go this summer:  He said "to the city to visit Summer and Noah".  He also answered it another time and said "To the beach, we can take a jet, my Daddy will fly it".  He's outgoing and rarely meets a stranger; I'm happy that he's friendly and usually is quite polite. He is a tactful negotiator; while as a parent it can sometimes be trying it's interesting to see him strategizing to make his point or get his way...future politician??  He really enjoys riding his hot wheel fast; so fast, it's almost scary.  He's also getting good at hitting the ball from the pitch rather than the tee (we love the look of determination in his eye when batting).  He plays whatever he is playing hard, usually his legs are covered in black and blue marks with skinned up knees (probably why he received elbow and knee pads for his birthday), I guess this is just part of being a little boy.  He was really excited to spend this upcoming week at nature camp but it was cancelled because of low enrollment.  Now he's looking forward to soccer camp in a few weeks.  It's fun to watch him, grow and learn, can't wait to see what year #4 brings!

More birthday pictures and posts to come but here's a couple of our 4 year old!!

Ready to eat crabs for his birthday dinner...this was his request:)  We also went to see the movie Planes, what a great present that it opened on his birthday!

The cupcakes that we made, chocolate on chocolate...again, his request.  Brennan really likes to help make cupcakes.

Time for his long awaited CARS party. Stop I'm 4!

Happy Birthday Brennan!
